Mark is Everyman (making sure creative concepts resonate with “real” people), wordsmith, tech researcher, and co-founder at Maxim Design Group. He is an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church and has served in various pastoral roles in churches from 30 to 1500. He is passionate about biblical preaching that is relevant and contextual.
He and Sharie enjoy discussing the cross-discipline principles of communication that apply to branding, visual communication and preaching. His research has led to a concept he calls “linkage” that helps distracted audiences connect God’s Word with their world, from a sermon’s beginning to end. The underlying principles are useful for nonprofit and ministry leaders who experience the challenge of connecting with distracted audiences, too.
He has two graduate degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and is currently working on a doctorate in homiletics (preaching) at Emmanuel College in the University of Toronto. He teaches preaching and Bible courses as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University and Wesley Seminary.
